Scotty

Scotty was initially developed in 1999 and a configuration management and workflow tool. It has evolved significantly throughout the years and is now one of the most sophisticated integrated workflow tools on the market.

Scotty has processed about three million work orders in telecom networks around the world. It takes advantage of the Errigal discovery processes to integrate the workflow with data in the live equipment. It is able to audit changes and make sure that the changes were implemented as requested by interrogating the equipment itself. This has led to tens of thousands of errors prevented from getting into the live networks. This has prevented a telecom network from becoming impaired and in many cases service impacting.

Scotty also provides an integrated design environment to allow design of a new network offline and has put mechanisms in place so that these designs can be compared against the live equipment and work orders automatically generated.

Built on top of the integrated design environment is a powerful workflow architecture tool where new workflows can be designed from scratch with custom notification and paging rules.
